There are RLC Reserve units located in every region of the UK. Twinned with our regular regiments, reservists are soldiers first and must commit to a minimum of 19 days a year. In return, The RLC’s reservists benefit from top class specialist training with transferable skills, gaining civilian and military qualifications in a wide variety of RLC trades.

As a member of the Army Reserve, you may be asked to go on operations to serve alongside regular soldiers and there are also opportunities for full-time service. Reservist soldiers and officers are paid a daily rate based on rank and service. You can also earn a ‘bounty’ which is a tax-free sum and enjoy other benefits.
