British Army Training Unit Kenya is the British Army’s largest contingent of soldiers in Africa. Based out of Laikipia Air Base, the British Army regularly conducts joint training with the Kenyan Defence Forces as well as outreach and engagement programmes.

Belize

British Army Training Support Unit Belize hosts the British Army’s largest training base in the Caribbean. In addition to training soldiers for the Army’s core purpose, soldiers based here engage with partners across the region to develop peace and security in collaboration with local forces.

British Forces Brunei is supported by a battalion of the British Army’s Royal Gurkha Rifles. The jungles of Brunei hone this battalion into the premier jungle warfare specialists in the world, hosting partners and allies around the region to share tactics and techniques to thrive in the unrelenting environment.

Cyprus is home to the British Sovereign Base Areas of Episkopi and Dhekelia. The British Army garrisons these bases with soldiers who stand ready to support the UK’s response to crisis in the region. The British Army contributes troops to the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus under Operation TOSCA.

Germany

Germany is home to the British Army-led NATO Forward Holding Base in Sennelager. This base hosts British Army tanks, equipment, and logistics elements as well as providing a facility to integrate and train with NATO allies to practise pour shared commitment to the alliance’s collective security and defence.

Gibraltar

Gibraltar is a strategically important territory on the gateway of the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean which is garrisoned by British Force Gibraltar. The Royal Gibraltar Regiment provides Regular and Reserve Infantry, Artillery, and specialist capability as well as ceremonial support to the Governor of Gibraltar.

Operation Cabrit: Estonia and Poland

Operation CABRIT is the UK’s contribution to NATO’s Forward Land Forces in Estonia and Poland. Established in 2016, a British Army Brigade is held at readiness and deploys its fighting power to secure NATO’s flank in Estonia.
