SPORT and ADVENTUROUS TRAINING

Wales UOTC fields competitive teams in many disciplines such as Rugby, Hockey, Netball, Football and much more. As an Officer Cadet you will be supported to try new sports and even compete at the highest levels in your chosen field within the Army. We have an annual UOTC inter sport competition – The Queens Challenge Cup at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, which is great event that you would be welcomed to participate in.
Adventurous training and activities feature strongly throughout the UOTC year and enables Officer Cadets to test and stretch their limits, grow in confidence and thrive in new environments. Here at Wales UOTC you can train in anything from kayaking in the UK to skiing the Alps, rock climbing in Bavaria and everything in between. This is an opportunity where you can gain new skills, and thrive in new and exciting environments. If there is an activity that particularly interests you, you may even get the opportunity to organise something yourself.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

We have a fantastic social calendar, from prestigious regimental dinners and cocktail parties to casual fancy dress events. To celebrate our Welsh heritage, we also have a formal St David’s Day regimental dinner which culminates in a traditional ‘leek eating’ ceremony during which nominated members of the unit eat a leek and present a toast to St David. WUOTC has everything you need to enhance and complement your time at university in Wales, resulting in a university experience more than just your degree.
