Army Parents' Network

The aim of the Army Parents Network (APN) is to support Serving Army Parents and the Chain of Command by providing access to information, advice and peer support.

Supporting and Connecting Army Parents

Based initially through our closed Facebook Group, individuals and the Chain of Command will be able to pose questions to the group. All of these questions can (if requested) be posted anonymously and it is hoped that other members of the group will be able to provide advice and point individuals towards relevant policy. In addition, the Facebook Group will advertise any changes to policy and (protective marking allowing) all new policies and useful information will be available below.

In order to join the Facebook Group, individuals will need to apply to join and will have to provide information so that we can confirm that they are still serving.

Key Issues

There are a significant number of key issues that will be addressed through this network including (but not limited to):

  • Maternity and Pregnancy
  • Paternity
  • Shared Parental Leave
  • Childcare
  • Family Policies
  • Adoption

Where issues with policy are identified the APN will raise these to the Chain of Command so that they can be properly addressed.
