Seventy-nine officers and soldiers, both Regular and Reserve, are recognised by His Majesty King Charles III in the military division of the New Year Honours List 2026, announced today in the London Gazette.

Exceptional and decisive leadership, an extraordinary act of bravery, and selfless commitment are just a few of the qualities recognised during the reporting period.

Outstanding individuals are cited for achievements including driving the Army’s adoption of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing; developing international agreements; establishing a new Defence capability for medical casualty simulation in field exercises; and many individuals working well beyond their own rank and responsibilities.

Defence Secretary John Healey MP said:

“Congratulations to everyone in our Armed Forces honoured today on this thoroughly deserved recognition. Whether in challenging environments overseas, in specialist roles that rarely make headlines, or in the essential work that keeps our military ready, your service exemplifies the professionalism and character our country relies upon.

“These honours reflect your individual achievements and the collective strength of our Armed Forces. Thank you for your service.”
