Enabling Capabilities
It commands the entire Army’s enabling capabilities ranging from Postal and Courier Services, Movement Control, Port and Maritime (which includes Vehicle Support Specialists), Operational Hygiene, catering support, equipment and recovery support, contracts subject matter experts and fuel, ammunition, material and medical storage and distribution.
With these capabilities, and by integrating others including Engineers, medics, communicators and police, the Brigade activates strategic and operational Lines of Communications. It generates and deploys forces that deliver specialist enabling effects in support of joint expeditionary and enduring operations whilst providing robust support for both UK and overseas contingency operations.
The Brigade also operates the Sea Mounting Centre at Marchwood and the Joint Air Mounting Centre at South Cerney; ensuring that the UK Points of Embarkation operate 24/7, 365 days a year. As part of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps, we maintain close links with NATO allies and international partners.
