Queen's University Officers' Training Corps offers a unique experience to university students looking to challenge and develop themselves, make life-long friends and get paid.
You'll receive internationally recognised military and leadership training along with the opportunity to immerse yourself in a variety of sports and adventurous training activities. The training is designed to fit around your academic commitments.
You are under no obligation to join the Regular Army or Army Reserves after your time with the UOTC finishes.
Eligibility
Queen’s University Officers’ Training Corps is an Army Reserve unit in Belfast that recruits from universities and regional (further education) colleges.
Affiliated universities and colleges include:
Queen’s University Belfast, Ulster University, St Mary’s University College, Stranmillis University College, Belfast Metropolitan College, Northern Regional College, Southern Regional College, South Eastern Regional College, North West Regional College, South West College and the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise.

Sport and Adventurous Training
Queen's UOTC fields competitive teams in many disciplines such as Rugby, Hockey, Netball, Football and much more. As an Officer Cadet you will be supported to try new sports and even compete at the highest levels in your chosen field.
Adventurous Training features strongly throughout the UOTC year and enables Officer Cadets to test and stretch their limits. You can train in anything from kayaking in the UK to skiing the Alps, rock climbing in Bavaria and everything in between.
Social Activities
And of course, we also have a fantastic social calendar, from glittering regimental dinners and cocktail parties to casual fancy dress events, Queen's UOTC has everything you need to enhance and compliment your time at university in and around Belfast.
