Sergeant Limbu – Training SNCO
My role has been recently established to enhance the career development of 44 Sqn personnel. This position is vital to ensure our soldiers are loaded onto appropriate career and trade courses, thereby strengthening the Squadron’s operational capabilities. I manage their career progression by identifying training gaps and enrolling them in courses to enhance their skills. I oversee the administration of MYDRIVE, a military Driver records App, for the entirety of RMAS, ensuring it is maintained effectively and efficiently. In addition, I am responsible for conducting vehicle familiarisation tests for all permanent staff, ensuring competencies remain current and compliant in line with policy. I carry out safety and checks by addressing and mitigating inappropriate driving behaviours. I oversee the enforcement of legislation to prevent recurrence of such behaviours, ensuring the safety and integrity of all personnel at the Academy.

Private Johnson – Driver
I joined 44 Support Squadron in August 2022 as an RLC driver and Transport Manager Assistant (TMA), managing over 50 vehicle types. My role includes servicing, maintenance, and tasking to support troop, store, and medical movements. During my time here, I gained valuable skills, including Combat Health Duties, a coach license, and an NVQ in Logistics.
A highlight was supporting Op Golden Orb during King Charles III’s Coronation, earning the King’s Coronation Medal. I also represented the Sqn in EX NORTHERN STRIKE 24, RLC Mil Skills, testing my military skills, fitness, and teamwork. My efforts have been recognised, and I will soon move top my next unit on promotion to LCpl. This posting has been both challenging and rewarding, shaping me as a soldier and person. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at 44 Squadron and the friendships I’ve made along the way.
