167 Regiment RLC is unique in the fact that is a nationally recruited Army Reserve unit.
This means we recruit soldiers and officers from all over the UK, who train centrally at our Regimental location.
The Regiment has a strength of 250, with four specialist Squadrons and a headquarters (HQ). We based in Grantham, Lincolnshire.
167 RLC is proud to be a diverse and inclusive family regiment.
111 & 112 Squadrons - Catering Support. Our chefs keep the army fed, deploying in the UK and overseas to ensure soldiers are supported with hot food in austere environments.
498 Squadron - Logistic Staff Support. Specialist officers and senior ranks in this squadron provide expert support to other headquarters through skills such as contract management, labour support and supply expertise.
500 Squadron - Communications Support. The Communications Operators of this subunit provide communications support to other units on exercise and operations ensuring the army can communicate and fight effectively.
Our mission statement: To provide sustainment support through the deployment of trained Army Reserve Personnel into any Army Formation.
Our personnel deploy worldwide on training exercises and operations. Recent deployments include Germany, Poland, Norway, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Somalia, Chad, Mali and the USA. Soldiers from the Regiment have also served with the Royal Navy on HMS Dragon and on the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth.
Each year we conduct a continuous training exercise as a regiment, either in the UK or overseas. There are also many opportunities to get involved in Army sports and adventurous training.
We achieve all we achieve through training and experience. Training is delivered by our own Army Reserve Sustainment School, which delivers courses in the following areas:
1. Catering - Including higher culinary skills development and fine dining training
2. Communications
3. Driver training - Category B, C+E, off-road and cross-country driving
4. Contracts management and specialist logistic training
Our personnel also benefit from leadership and development training to maximise their potential. This begins with basic training and trade training, with Promotion courses and specialist management courses following with experience.
167 Regiment RLC is a unique unit in the British Army. With a minimum commitment of 19 days a year, we offer all the benefits of reserve service with increased flexibility to suit the busy lives of our Reservists. Between routine training, deployment opportunities, sports and adventurous training, our Reservists can maximise the training that works for them with many training for well above the minimum required period.
