The Regimental Headquarters is located at Palace Barracks, in Holywood on the outskirts of Belfast.
The Regiment is organised into four squadrons:
- 227 (Headquarters) Squadron - Palace Barracks, Holywood
- 211 (Tanker) Squadron - Caw Camp, Londonderry and Coleraine ARC
- 220 (Tanker) Squadron - Palace Barracks, Holywood
- 400 (Petroleum) Squadron - Palace Barracks, Holywood
The Regiment is paired with the Regular Army Unit, 9 Regiment RLC.
152 (North Irish) Regiment RLC is capable of deploying equipment and soldiers from Squadron strength down to individual augmentees in order to distribute bulk fuel globally. Additionally, we are able to provide subject matter experts to higher headquarters, delivering fuel supply expertise to commanders.
The Regiment operates two Bulk Fuel Carrying Vehicles who can independently operate bulk fuel installations. A Deployable Bulk Fuel Installation has the ability to store almost 600,000 litres of fuel, whilst our Petroleum Laboratory Technicians are able to test and assure fuel quality in austere environments. Our soldiers are trained to drive the Close Support Tanker and the Unit Support Tanker, as well as being able to operate and maintain the platform’s fuel pumping capability.
Additionally, the Regiment provides ceremonial support across the world through its Pipes & Drums band. The band is open to all soldiers of 152 (North Irish) Regiment RLC and those in it are trained on their chosen instrument in conjunction with their primary trade.
The Regiment employs various trades from across the RLC, including:
We also employ Petroleum Laboratory Technicians and personnel from the Adjutant General’s Corps (AGC-SPS).
