The Commanding Officer of 30th Signal Regiment is also the Commander Queens Gurkha Signals (QGS), their Regimental Headquarters is co-located with 30th Signal Regiment.
The Queens Gurkha Signals have operational Squadrons in a numbers of R Signals Regiments. Young officers posted to serve with the QGS will have the opportunity to undertake language training in Nepal and be part of a rich history.
Provides communications information systems resilience for the Air Assault Task Force (16X) as well as support to up to four Joint Helicopter Force operationally deployable HQs. They have a global remit to support operational training and are permanently held at Very High Readiness for deployment.
Provides CCS for the Standing Joint Force Headquarters (SJFHQ). This is a rapidly deployable 2 star HQ providing operational command and control for the Joint Expeditionary Force.
Provides the Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) with CCS held at Very High Readiness. This HQ is the UK’s premier 1 star deployable asset for Joint Command of overseas military operations.
Provides Operational Liaison and Reconnaissance Teams (OLRT) for short notice crisis response anywhere in the world. In addition to this, the squadron also provides CCS for the Standing Joint Force Logistic Component (SFJLogC). This operationally deployable HQ stands at readiness for deployment to command logistic support for complex or humanitarian operations.
Provides High Readiness support to the regiments’ capabilities, including Light Aide Detachment (LAD), Transport, Medical, Clerical, Technical CIS specialists and Training.
Since its formation the Regiment has been highly deployable around the world, earning the nickname ‘The Globetrotters’. The White Swan is the crest of the Regiment and comes from a long association with The Worshipful Company of Dyers dating back to 1960.
The Regiment has always maintained strong relationships with local communities and has been granted the freedom of entry for Blandford, Nuneaton and Bedworth and the Island of Alderney.
