Who We Are

Captain Nava Ramanan

Day to day I am a Civil Servant within the Ministry of Justice working as a Lead Technical Architect.

I chose SGIS as I felt that this would be the best way for me to offer my expertise and experience to the Armed Forces, and allow me to be utilised in the most effective manner.

The best part for me is that the specialist skills I learn as a member of SGIS are directly transferrable to my civilian world, giving me the opportunity to learn and enhance skills. For me, it has given me great satisfaction to serve twice - as a Civil Servant and as an Army Specialist Reserve Officer

Corporal Robyn Galliers

I joined the Army Reserve 14 years ago as I wanted to serve my country.

After a few attachments to SGIS I transferred in as it was where I was best able to leverage my specialist skills as a Validation & HW Engineer to help the Army and deliver a tangible effect.

It is a thrill to see my work have a positive impact and aid us achieving our combined mission more efficiently and effectively. However, it’s not all work and no play, over the years I have shot for my regiment, scuba-dived and skydived as well as raced in both triathlon and cycling. I am immensely proud to serve in the Army Reserve in general and SGIS in particular

Major Lesley-Ann Jordan

In civilian life I am a Principal Software Engineer working for a large multi-national technology company.

I joined SGIS as a Specialist Reserve Officer which has given me the extraordinary opportunity to combine my civilian skills with military and add value to the Army and wider Defence.

Joining the Reserves has been both challenging and rewarding, opening many experiences such as the Military Reserves Exchange Programme to the US.
