Courses at RACPD

All Health and Safety courses from RACPD are great for anyone who is looking to go into a managerial role or as a first step towards a career in occupational health and safety.

Health & Safety courses are designed to teach individuals how to improve their knowledge and skills to reduce risk and make workplaces safer for everyone

These courses help improve standards of practice for those working in training and development and for those who support others with their own learning programmes.

These qualifications are highly valued by civilian employers and will improve your employment prospects outside of the military.

RACPD has been offering English and maths qualifications for over 20 years. We aim to help you succeed in all areas of your working life and improving your functional skills and gaining national qualifications will support you in doing that.

Our Functional Skills qualifications in English and maths are designed to help you to develop and demonstrate the practical skills you need in everyday situations. If you are on an apprenticeship you will need to work towards level 2 Functional skills and achieve a minimum of level 1 for the level 2 Apprenticeship and a minimum of level 2 for the level 3 Apprenticeship.

From working in a nursery or primary school as a support worker to teaching in further education facilities, our courses will provide you with the required skills and qualifications.

The Teacher Education and Training courses, which lead to nationally recognised civilian teaching qualifications, are available to all personnel in the RA, Army and other Services, including reservists, as well as dependants and veterans.

Equine Groom at Level 2
Senior Equine Groom at Level 3

Equine courses are designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge you need now, to help you in your current role, and in your life beyond the Army. All courses are nationally recognised civilian qualifications, which prove to future employers that you have the right skills to work in the equine industry.

They cover many areas including stable management, horse welfare and supervising. They sit alongside BHS qualifications as the benchmark qualification within the equine industry.

Aviation Ground Operative at level 2
Aviation Ground Specialist at level 3

The Aviation Operations Ground Operations standards by RACPD give you a civilian qualification which proves your competencies in the trade. Both standards are designed to support your military training but also show your current, and any future employers, that you have the right skills and experience for the job.

On completion of these standards, suitable employment vacancies could include a commercial airport, military base/aerodrome, heliport or other airfield. However, the apprenticeship standards are for members of the Royal Artillery UAS trade only.

Express Delivery Operative at Level 2

Most military personnel will be involved in the logistics trade, whether driving military vehicles or moving vehicle platforms.

The logistics courses run by RACPD are designed to help you in your current role but also to prepare you for a future one. Keeping up to date with the latest civilian driving laws and directives, ensures you achieve a nationally recognised qualification that you can use after your military career.

If you are a telecoms specialist then the RACPD can offer you a range of courses that will take you through your career and beyond.

Telecommunications courses are designed to fit with your military training, and all of our tutors come from a military background, so they understand what’s relevant and practical to you.

As well as helping you in your current role, our courses recognise your telecoms experience with a civilian qualification that proves to a civilian employer that you have the skills, knowledge, and competence to be an IT or telecoms professional.

Successful completion of the GCS Level 3 course qualifies you to join our apprenticeship programmes. These offers are available to the ACS, FST and B-ISTAR trades; other trades may be eligible.
