From the start, you will achieve a sense of fulfilment, experience adventure and get paid for your time. And as your Army Reserve career progresses and your knowledge, experience and leadership develops, you can achieve promotion.

- Operational Planning
- Logistics Planning and Delivery
- Equipment Care and Maintenance
- Driving (including Heavy Goods Vehicles)

We offer a wide range of Sports and Adventure Training.
Our people have represented the Regiment, the Artillery and the Army in a range of sports, including rugby, triathlon, cycling, cross country, surf-kayaking, powerlifting, angling and so on – there’s something for everyone! And you get paid for taking part in sport organised by the Army.
We regularly offer Adventure Training opportunities, such as our annual skiing expedition to the Alps. And when you take part in adventure training, you get paid!
We also support people to undertake ‘ultra’ events. We aim to complete at least one significant ‘ultra’ event a year. And, as with sport and adventure training, Reservists get paid to take part.
We have lots of modern camping equipment, paddle boards, mountain bikes and all sorts of other kit for members of the Regiment to use as they wish – from weekends away with their Army Reserve mates, to summer holidays with family. The limit is your imagination.

Now that you've applied, you'll be given a candidate support manager and a login to an online portal where you can track your progress online. The recruiting team will tell you about various roles we offer in the Royal Artillery and help you plan what you need to do to get to the next stage.
If you don't already know your local unit, you can find it here.
This is your chance to see if the Army is suitable for you, and for us to see if you are suitable to join. The assessment will involve the following:

- An interview
Once you have passed the assessment centre, and you've enlisted, you are ready to start your training as a soldier in the British Army.
