210 (North Irish) Multi-Role Medical Regiment recruits, trains and sustains Role 1 (Primary and Pre-Hospital Care) and Role 2 (Deployed Hospital Care) medical capability in support of current and future operations and tasks, at home and overseas.
What is a Multi-Role Medical Regiment (MMR)?
By combining traditional Field Hospital and Medical Regiment roles into a new type of medical unit, the MMR provides an integrated healthcare system (recognised by our civilian colleagues) within a single unit.
It does so by incorporating Primary Healthcare (PH), Pre-Hospital Emergency Care (PHEC), Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) and Deployed Hospital Care (DHC) alongside specialist small teams (Dental, Physio and Mental Health), all of which are facilitated by integrated Administrative, Catering, Logistic and Transport support.
An MMR provides improved tactical flexibility, agility, clinical continuity, and credibility to the Operational Patient Care Pathway (OPCP), integrating Medical Capability at the lowest level as the situation demands.
