Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers

The Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) provides engineering support to maintain and repair the vast array of British Army equipment. They will be found wherever the Army is operating, at home or overseas. The technical training our soldiers’ receive gives them the confidence to tackle any engineering problem. We are professional, resourceful and resilient, and we strive to keep fit equipment in the hands of the user; to keep the punch in the Army’s fist!

What we do

We work with modern tools and technologies to care for all of the Army's equipment; tanks, helicopters, vehicles, artillery and weapons systems, engineer plant, generators and more.

Our people make engineering decisions on a daily basis that lead to the success of the mission, and we do this in the most austere environments, under the most challenging conditions.

We invest in our people by giving them the best military and technical training, by supporting their personal and professional development, enriching their lives with challenge, adventure and camaraderie, and supporting their physical and mental wellbeing.

The Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank is an all-weather platform that can operate in the day or night and has a variety of weapons to destroy enemy vehicles and infantry.

The rifle fires a 7.62mm round and has enhanced accuracy of engagement during longer-range firefights.
The Support Vehicle fleet provides far greater mobility than previous generation cargo vehicles

Desert Hawk is an extremely versatile and small Uncrewed Aerial System designed for discrete operations

Foxhound has a top speed of 112 kph but can still protect against improvised explosive devices thanks to its v-shaped hull.
