36 Engineer Regiment

We are the British Army's leading Force Support engineer unit. We can deploy anywhere, providing all the skillsets that our Sappers are famous for. This includes all artisan trades, logistics specialists, drivers, communications specialists and combat engineers.

Additionally, we can deploy an armoured vehicle capability that can prove and clear logistics routes.

Current deployments

Project Anemoi - Falkland Islands

Our Sappers are currently deployed in the South Atlantic completing infrastructure upgrade and construction tasks across the island.

Operation Trenton - South Sudan (United Nations Peace Keeping)

Operation Tosca - Cyprus (United Nations Peace Keeping)

Operation Marmat - Nepal (earthquake disaster relief)

We have soldiers from 21 different nationalities serving in the regiment, including two Gurkha field squadrons. We are a very diverse and adaptable organisation, where everyone is valued.

We are based in Maidstone, with one field support squadron based in Woodbridge, Suffolk.

Situated on the doorstep of Maidstone with easy access to the town, Invicta Park Barracks is a fantastic location for service personnel. We enjoy strong links with the local community, have excellent transport links to London (50 mins by train) and are well placed to enjoy some of the best attractions in the South-East of England.

Both Canterbury and the Channel Tunnel are approximately 30 mins away, with Ashford International providing easy access to the Eurostar and Europe.
