3 RSME Regiment is to deliver well trained and motivated Military Engineers in order to meet the operational requirements of Defence 'Combat Engineer Centre of Excellence'

We are responsible for delivering command courses at junior level and facilitating combat engineer courses. We deliver basic and advanced level courses to all elements of the British Army.

3 RSME Regiment prides itself on world class training instructors and facilities.

Bridging – We enable the Army to MOVE
Demolitions – We enable the Army to FIGHT
Water Supply – We enable the Army to SURVIVE
Physical Conditioning – We can only achieve this by being physically robust.

Located in the heart of Surrey, Gibraltar Barracks boasts world class facilities that include a demolitions, 25m and clay target range, cinema, swimming pool, state of the art fitness suite, astro-pitch and even a sailing lake.

Gibraltar Barracks is also home to 8 Engineer Brigade, the Royal Engineers Trials and development Unit and the Royal Engineers Warfare Wing.

Life at 3 RSME Regiment is busy; we deliver initial Royal Engineer training to all Sapper officers and soldiers. There is always something exciting happening.

Soldiers from the Field Army also train here; all levels of Command Leadership and Management are taught along with Combat Engineering at all levels, with the intent of meeting the requirements of Defence.

Furthermore, 3 RSME Regiment provides driver training to soldiers that require it.

There is never a dull moment and always something to do. In the evenings there are various activities including a cinema, sports and a sub aqua club.

3 RSME Regiment comprises of two training squadrons, 55 and 57. Both of these squadrons were previously independent field squadrons and saw active service in the Korean War, where the Corps won an array of medals for leadership and gallantry.

Today, these squadrons are able to deliver all combat engineer training with the help of 63 Headquarters and Training Support Squadron, which was previously a field park squadron.
