NOT YOUR AVERAGE UNIVERSITY SOCIETY
Queen’s University Officers’ Training Corps is an Army Reserve unit in Belfast that recruits from universities and regional (further education) colleges.
Affiliated universities and colleges include:
Queen’s University Belfast, Ulster University, St Mary’s University College, Stranmillis University College, Belfast Metropolitan College, Northern Regional College, Southern Regional College, South Eastern Regional College, North West Regional College, South West College and the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise.
You are under no obligation to join the Regular Army or Army Reserves after your time with the UOTC finishes.

We give a unique experience to students – personal development you get paid for!
We offer leadership development, military training, adventure training, education and learning, and sport and social activities in both Northern Ireland and overseas. Not only will you meet great people doing this, but you can also gain internationally recognised civilian qualifications and an offer, for most, of a career at the end of it. All training is designed to fit around and support your academic studies.

SPORT AND ADVENTUROUS TRAINING
While we primarily deliver military training, we also play sport and encourage participation to the highest levels, whatever your chosen field.
Adventure training features strongly in our programme, to build leadership and confidence. Through us you can gain free civilian qualifications in hillwalking, climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, skiing and more, as well as participating in expeditions overseas.

After experiencing the camaraderie and wealth of opportunity that being part of the Officers’ Training Corps brings, you might decide a career in the Army is for you. There are several Army Officer bursaries available to support you through university, helping you to reach your full potential.
You could be eligible for a bursary of up to £25,000 or £75,000 if you are a medical student.
