World Youth Skills Day - 13 July 2019
The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst will celebrate World Youth Skills Day 2019, a United Nations international celebration of the skills young people have.
The aim of the day will be to gather 400 young people together who already take part in Youth Organisations to demonstrate the practical application of leadership skills.
Such an amazing opportunity The Dorcan Academy
There will be workshops covering:
- Team work
- Problem solving
- Confidence building
These workshops were delivered by both military and civilian facilitators.
Youth Leadership Forum 2018
in 2018 we ran a Youth Leadership Forum. The day consisted of an opening address by Brigadier WSC Wright OBE (Commander of Sandhurst), then Andy McNab gave a talk on the importance of education. Finally, Alex Paterson, former senior Army Cadet Force Drum Major with the Pipes and Drums, gave an inspiring speech on how cadets changed her life for the better and gave her purpose.
The students were then divided into groups and conducted three different workshops, both military and civilian.
The teachers and facilitators also had a lunch in the impressive Officers' Mess in New College.
This event is now at capacity attendance but we have a STEM event in September and we are looking for girls to attend.
So please take at that event webpage.
