The Army's Support Command

The Army's Two-Star Headquarters enables the delivery of Firm Base support to the Army, its personnel and their dependants in the UK, Germany, Nepal and Brunei.

It delivers Real Life Support to the Army and commands the UK Station and Garrisons. It is also responsible for the engagement with the civilian community and acts as the proponent for UK Operations. Regional Command effects are delivered through nine One-Star Regional Points of Command (RPoC) that cover the whole of the UK.

UK Operations and Resilience

Regional Command acts as the coordinating body for the Army's support to civil authorities, in the event of a crisis or large scale event that requires military support. The type of support provided is dependent on the situation, but can range from delivering niche capabilities, which would otherwise be unavailable to civil authorities, or augmenting capability through provision of additional manpower or assets.

Past examples of the Army's involvement in supporting UK Resilience include: Floods (North West 2016, South West 2014), the Olympic Games (2012), Foot and Mouth (2001).

Civil Engagement

Regional Command delivers the Army’s UK Engagement Mission which is to ensure that all communities throughout the UK understand the role of their Army and the varied tasks the Army undertakes in order to secure UK interests at home and abroad. We are working to ensure the Army of the future is well manned with the best talent and the right skills, and is fully representative of UK society.
