Field Army Troops – will centrally command high-demand, low-volume capabilities.
It consists of 16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team, the Surveillance Group, the Understand Group and the Cyber Electro Magnetic Activities Effects Group. The 2nd Medical Group will join later in the year.

16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team
16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team is the British Army's global response force, specially trained and equipped to deploy by parachute, helicopter and airlanding.
Its core role is to maintain and command the Air Manoeuvre Task Force (AMTF). This is comprised of infantry and aviation battlegroups held at very high readiness to deploy anywhere in the world. They can carry out the full spectrum of missions, from non-combatant evacuation operations to war fighting.

Surveillance Group
The Surveillance Group generates and develops Army surveillance capabilities in order to enhance Land component operational outputs.

Understand Group
The Intelligence engine at the heart of the Field Army. It is responsible for running the intelligence cycles to support Field Army. It delivers discrete capabilities and assures Army intelligence.
