Information Technology

The Information Technology courses from RACPD are designed to develop your existing knowledge and provide you with highly transferable skills in a range of software applications.

The national qualifications you will gain through our courses not only prove your IT competencies, but they also increase your promotion prospects and help you prepare for a second career.

For officers and soldiers, these qualifications will prepare you for staff appointments.

Health and Safety

All Health and Safety courses from RACPD are great for anyone who is looking to go into a managerial role or as a first step towards a career in occupational health and safety.

If you've also been considering a teaching role then the Compliance Training Instructor course includes Level 3 Award in Education and Training qualification.

Most military personnel will be affected by the logistics trade, whether driving military vehicles or moving vehicle platforms.

The Logistics Courses run by RACPD are designed to help you in your current role but also to prepare you for a future one. By keeping up to date with the latest civilian driving laws and directives, ensures you achieve a nationally recognised qualification that you can use after your military career.

Horse Care

RACPD offer Horse Care qualifications which are available to members of the King's Troop RHA only.
Horse Care courses are designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge you need now, to help you in your current role, and in your life beyond the Army. All courses have nationally recognised civilian qualifications, which prove to future employers that you have the right skills to work in the equine industry.

They cover many areas including stable management, horse welfare and supervising. They sit alongside BHS qualifications as the benchmark qualification within the equine industry.

Learning and Development

These qualifications are suited to those who support others with their own learning programmes.

The assessor and internal verifier qualifications are required by soldiers involved in assessing or verifying apprenticeships for RACPD. These qualifications are highly valued by civilian employers, and will improve your employment prospects outside of the military.

Teacher Education & Training

Whether you are currently in an instructing role or an aspiring teacher, a range of courses are available from RACPD to assist you in designing and delivering effective learning sessions.

The Teacher Education and Training courses, which lead to nationally recognised civilian teaching qualifications, are available to all personnel in the RA, Army and other Services, including reservists, as well as dependants and veterans.

This course is suitable for anyone looking to work in the private security industry. This includes anyone thinking of becoming a Door Supervisor or anyone wishing to work as Festival Security.

Under the Private Security Industry Authority Act 2001, all individuals wishing to work in the private security industry must undertake a recognised qualification before applying for a licence.

Functional Skills

The Functional Skills ICT course offered by RACPD is a standalone course and is available to everyone. The Functional Skills maths and English courses are also standalone but available to veterans and dependants only. Military personnel wishing to study standalone Functional Skills maths or English should contact their PD Advisor or RCMO for further advice.

These courses provide you with the key skills you need in life and the skills that are essential to any future job, as well as your career progression in the military. For example, if you left school without GCSEs you will need Level 1 English and maths to get promoted to JNCO, and you will need to achieve Level 2 to be promoted to SNCO.

It might be that you already have many of the skills, and to the right level, but should you have any gaps then a team of qualified tutors are on hand to help.

Leadership & Management qualifications from RACPD endorse the extensive management and leadership skills you have gained over your military career.
