Capt Gray

Captain Ed Gray

“Working as a Fire Support Team Commander within 7 PARA RHA has placed me in the unique position to lead and work alongside some of the most talented and dedicated soldiers within not only the Royal Artillery but the wider Army.

Their dedication starts with obtaining the physical fitness to complete Pegasus Company and earn the right to conduct military parachuting, setting them apart from the wider Army, it also sets each member of the Regiment on a journey to constantly strive to be better in all aspects of military life.

Whilst leading my team on Operation PITTING I witnessed first-hand the tireless commitment each member showed in the conduct of their duty. In my career thus far, nowhere else have I seen a Regiment better live its ethos on a daily basis; all to one end.”

Sgt Anglesey

Sergeant Paul Anglesey

“At 7 PARA RHA we pride ourselves on our actions, whether that’s in camp, on exercise or operations. We always look to excel in our work but remain humble. We live by The Pegasus Ethos, which defines the qualities that our roles demand.

As the Joint Fires Integration Cell Commander within the 2 PARA Battlegroup, I am responsible for the effective delivery of Joint Fires and battle space management, knowing that the actions of my subordinates are completed to the highest standards, as we work to the same ethos.

We train and test ourselves in all conditions, which prepares us for every eventuality and possible taskings. Since joining the regiment, I have deployed on multiple operations to Afghanistan, on Op HERRICK and more recently on Op PITTING, during the Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation in Kabul, when we deployed at very short notice into a volatile and changing environment.

Last year members of G Parachute Bty deployed to Morocco, Jordan, Macedonia, America, Germany, Japan and conducted exercises across the UK.”

Gnr Howes

Gunner Kyle Howes

“Since joining 7 PARA RHA I have attended 3 x Brigade Pre-Conditioning Courses, my last attempt was successful and I passed P Company in October 2022.

I deployed early in the year on Ex CYPHER STRIKE 22 as part of a gun detachment in the Otterburn training area.

I have also been selected to run for the regimental cross-country team. Last year I raced in the 3-mile relay race before going on my courses. This year I'm looking forward to racing in January and February followed by the Commando speed march in March. After the cross country races this year, I'll be looking to complete the All Arms Basic Parachute Course.”
