4 Military Intelligence (MI) Battalion is a regular Army unit under the operational command of the 1st Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Brigade. It is tasked with supporting its partners in HQ 3 (UK) Division, the Armoured Infantry Brigades and securing the Army in London, the South of England and Germany.
Our Structure
The Battalion is structured into 3 Multi-Functional Military Intelligence (MFMI) Companys, an Operations Support Military Intelligence Company and a Headquarters Company.
The MFMI Companys each support an Armoured Infantry Brigade at readiness in the UK and Germany, each Company has the following capabilities:
- Close Support (CS) Intelligence Section
- General Support (GS) Intelligence Section
- Battle Group Intelligence Support Section (BGISS)
- Counter Intelligence and Security (CI&Sy) Section
