Family Information

If your loved one is wounded, injured or falls ill during their Army service there is a system in place to support them through a proven recovery process and ensure they are either able to return to duty or make a smooth transition into a civilian life outside the Army.

Whether wounded on operations, injured on a training exercise, a casualty in a road traffic accident or diagnosed with a serious illness, all wounded, injured and sick soldiers are offered the same support to ensure the best possible outcome for them.

The recovery journey is different for everyone, but from the point of their injury or diagnosis their mission changes from the role they carry out in the Army to their recovery which follows the below pathway:
