Medical facilities

The Medical Reception Station provides a 24-hour service, seven days a week, for the whole community at ATR Winchester.

A team of civilian and military health professionals support doctors in delivering every aspect of healthcare.
The Station focuses on health promotion and offers a number of regular clinics, including:

  • Immunisation Clinic
  • Blister Clinic
  • Sexual Health Clinic
  • Well Man Clinic
  • Quit Smoking Clinic
  • Travel Health Clinic

These clinics are supported by printed information on a variety of medical topics which is available for anyone to browse or collect.

The Station has undergone many recent building improvements. Following a recent extension it now has 13 beds. A new consultancy room and training room were also recently added and an internal pharmacy is able to supply all prescription medications.

The Dental Centre

The Dental Centre at ATR Winchester consists of both military and civilian dental health professionals.  All clinical staff are qualified and registered with the General Dental Council.

Our aim is to deliver effective military oral health care and health advice in order to maximise the fighting power of the Armed Forces.  In particular we target dental care provision towards recruits during Phase 1 training here at ATR Winchester so that by the time you reach the field Army, any outstanding dental treatment needs have been appropriately addressed.

We provide the same level of dental care that you expect to receive at a civilian practice and it is carried out by our two Dental Officers’.  In addition we are able to obtain specialist advice from Consultant Oral Surgeons at the Regional Hospital Departments and Tidworth, and also from the Consultant Dental Advisers at Aldershot.

All treatment is free to entitled personnel i.e. all serving members of the Army, Navy and RAF and please be assured that all staff in the Practice regards patient confidentiality as their highest priority. All patient information is confidential and protected by law.
