Medical facilities

This medical facility falls under the governance and direction of Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) London South East (LSE) Region. On entering Alexander Barracks, the Medical Reception Station (MRS) is situated immediately on the left hand side after the main roundabout.

The MRS is equipped with a purpose built wing providing a bedding down facility for recruits and military permanent staff within Pirbright Station, as well as patients from Deepcut and London Medical facilities. The 15 bed facility consists of 3 x 4 bed rooms and 3 single/isolation rooms. A team of Staff Nurses and Health Care Assistants provide nursing care for the ward 24/7. The ward usually closes during the Christmas/New year stand-down period.


The medical facility offers a comprehensive range of Primary Care to military personnel and dependants. Services include vaccination clinics, occupational health advice/support, Child Immunisation Clinics, Well Woman and Well Man Clinics, Smoking Cessation Clinics, ante and post-natal Clinics with an NHS Midwife and health Visitor, Families Sister and a Primary Care Rehabilitation Facility (PCRF).

The facility is also equipped with its own in-house dispensary and Dental Centre.
