Central Library

Royal Military Academy Sandhurst’s Central Library provides information resources to support the academic and professional training of officer cadets, Late Entry Officers and the military and civilian staff at Sandhurst.

There is an impressive collection of more than 140,000 printed volumes and audiovisual and electronic resources in support of research-led, postgraduate-level learning and teaching in military history, the military arts and sciences, defence policy, international affairs and the behavioural sciences.

The building that forms the main hall of the Central Library was originally the Royal Military College gymnasium, completed in 1863. It was converted into a library in 1931 and was later linked by corridor to Marlow Hall, which was once the engine shed for the railway used in the construction of New College.

Although the library is not open to the public, bibliographic and other enquiries are welcome – please complete the form at the bottom of this page.
