Royal Signals Sport

Sport has always played an important part of life in the Royal Signals and maximum opportunity is given to both officers and soldiers to take part in a wide variety of sports.

Developing Leadership

Sport, in all forms, is recognised as developing leadership qualities, team spirit and self reliance, as well as adding to the quality of life of any soldier.

All recruits undergoing training at 11th Signal Regiment at Blandford take part in the 'Sport For All' scheme where they are introduced to a variety of sports which they may not have experienced before.

The Corps is strongly represented by sailors in various successful sailing teams.

Soldiers, both Regular and TA, should be competent and confident in using their personal weapons.

Corps Boxing

Royal Signals Units hold annual Inter Squadron Boxing tournaments and compete against other Units and Services.

Many Royal Signals Units have qualified coaches and personnel are encouraged to attend the Army Boxing Association coaching courses.

Units such as 14th Signal Regiment (Electronic Warfare) also train with local amateur boxing clubs.
