Royal Signals Northern Band

One of 19 Army Reserve Bands based in the United Kingdom.

The bands history goes back to 1952 when the then Commanding Officer received a letter from Durham Territorial Association stating that it was prepared to authorise an additional Band for Teritorial Army Units in the association area.

In April 1999, the band was disbanded. The band was kept alive as an “unofficial” band  and in 2006 it was recognised that the band were an asset to the Army Reserve and on the 01 July 2008 it received its “official” status back and are now able continue the fine traditions of the Signals Reserve Bands. Due to Army restructuring in 2009, the band is now under control of 32 Signal Regiment and forms part of 11 Signal Brigade.
