Accommodated at the Army Reserve Centre, on Eastern Avenue, Gloucester, 131 Recovery Company boosts a fleet of modern 32-tonne Recovery and Support vehicles, in addition to workshops, classrooms and offices. The Centre also houses gymnasium equipment, a 25m firing range and an all ranks bar which ensure that company personnel can play hard as well as work hard.

As a member of 131 Recovery Company you will be trained and practiced in individual and team skills to prepare you for a rewarding career as a member of the REME Reserve. Many of these skills are transferrable to vocational trades and easily recognizable to the many engineering and road transport organisations.

With a wide range of trades available from Recovery Mechanic to Chef and Vehicle Mechanic to Combat Medical Technician, 131 Recovery Company offers those wishing to learn and develop new skills and experiences a wide range of employment options.

You will be fully supported by the company, with training designed to bring out your natural leadership and communication skills as well as develop your skills at a trade of your choice. Your confidence and skills will flourish as you progress through trained soldier status and beyond.

131 Recovery Company personnel train every Tuesday evening and, on average, one weekend a month, maintaining and developing their trade skills, fitness and military effectiveness.

Men and women of the REME Reserve have served on operations and exercises all over the world including Bosnia, Kosovo, Cyprus, Kenya, Iraq and more recently Afghanistan. Operations in Afghanistan have ended, but there are many other opportunities for REME Reserve to serve with their regular Army colleagues on operations and exercises across the globe.

131 Recovery Company’s role is to provide support to the training of a variety of armoured, infantry and support units based within the South West of England, as well as on exercises and operations abroad.
