The project forms part of the Army’s vision for an Integrated Army of 2035, embodying an electrically powered and systemically protected Land force. Mercury is setting out to develop capabilities that protect the force to win the fight. It represents the future of autonomous Land combat power.
Mercury is a Land Industrial Strategy pilot; Our intent is to set out a collaborative way of working with industry from the earliest stage that will enable us to communicate and work with them earlier in the procurement process, to supercharge technological innovation through this decade, to deliver revolutionary capability in the next.
The success of Mercury will provide a mechanism to share the benefits of Army-Industry collaboration: cutting edge capability and choice for the Army; orderbook and exports for Industry; prosperity for the UK.
