Queens Platinum Jubilee: Royal Engineers

Founded in 1716 The Corps of Royal Engineers has been at the forefront of innovation and enabling Defence to operate globally. Over its 300 year history it has continued to develop, evolve and thrive during the 70 years of Her Majesty's reign.

The Corps of Royal Engineers are multi-skilled soldiers, combat engineers and tradesmen, who provide essential support to all areas of Defence in peacetime and on operations, allowing The British Army to live, move and fight, wherever they are deployed in active combat or humanitarian work.

They will continue to be leaders in the field of Military Engineering ready to support The British Army to live, move and fight wherever they are operating. As well as continuing to provide vital humanitarian and disaster relief and recovery at home and abroad.

The Chief Royal Engineer and all ranks of the Corps of The Royal Engineers and The Queen’s Gurkha Engineers congratulate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth on her historic Platinum Jubilee, and offer their heartfelt thanks for her 70 years of devoted service to the Nation and Commonwealth
