The Malayan Emergency: among other regiments, 1 Royal Hampshire Regiment deployed to Malaya between 1954 and 1956 and were mostly made up of National Servicemen who spent 18 of their 24 months deployed.

During the Troubles in Northern Ireland, all Infantry battalions undertook tours in support of the Royal Ulster Constabularly, countering the threat of terrorist activity.

The Falkands war in 1982 proved to be very much an Infantry operation. The ardous battle training undertaken by the British Infantry Soldier proved essential preparation for the Falklands terrain and close quarter combat.

1993-2006 Bosnia – Balkans. In 1993, the first of a number of Infantry battalions were deployed as part of the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) into the midst of a three sided war of pillage and ethnic cleansing, negotiating ceasefires, evacuating women and children and delivering medical aid and supplies to all factions and communities.
