The Falkands war in 1982 proved to be very much an Infantry operation. The ardous battle training undertaken by the British Infantry Soldier proved essential preparation for the Falklands terrain and close quarter combat.

1993-2006 Bosnia – Balkans. In 1993, the first of a number of Infantry battalions were deployed as part of the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) into the midst of a three sided war of pillage and ethnic cleansing, negotiating ceasefires, evacuating women and children and delivering medical aid and supplies to all factions and communities.
