Regiments or Corps given Freedom of the City (or Borough) can parade through the town or city as a sign of mutual respect between the local people and units based in the area.

York
Locally referred to as 'the capital of the North', York saw the Queen's Own Yeomanry (QOY), who have held the Freedom of the City since 2010, parade through the historic streets on horseback and on foot.

Bury St Edmunds
Lieutenant Colonel Simon Wilsey, Commanding Officer (CO) of 3 Regiment Army Air Corps (3 AAC), which marched through Bury St Edmunds, said: "Today has been about celebrating our place in the Suffolk community, and putting on a show as a gesture of appreciation. It is also an important time for the Regiment as we enter a new era, changing the helicopters we operate. from the Apache Mark 1 to the AH-64E."

Leeds
Around 60 marching troops, mostly Reservists, from 4 PARA took part in the parade, with Councillor Asghar Khan, the Lord Mayor, full of praise for the links between the Battalion and the vibrant West Yorkshire city.

Bury St Edmunds
The first parade of its kind since 3 AAC was granted the Freedom of St Edmundsbury in 2010, the ceremony served as a delayed celebration of the 50th anniversary of the unit's formation.
