Soldiers from the 1st Battalion the Ranger Regiment (1 Ranger) have deployed to West Africa to conduct joint training with their Ghanaian Armed Forces counterparts.
The British Army has a long-standing relationship with Ghana, where soldiers from 1 RANGER have been demonstrating the interoperability of our forces. The troops are sharing and sharpening a range of key skills, including rural and urban counter-terrorism tactics and tactical information operations.
The training comes ahead of their joint participation in Exercise Flintlock. This annual multinational special operations exercise, sees African and Western partner forces work together to enhance their interoperability, hone their skills counter violent extremist organisations, protect their borders, and provide security for their people.
