British Science Week is an annual celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) which features a range of fascinating, entertaining and engaging national, regional and local events across the UK. The campaign provides a platform to stimulate and support teachers, STEM professionals, science communicators and the general public to produce and participate in STEM events and activities across the UK.
Last year, over 2,300 events, reaching nearly one million participants, took place across the UK. British Science Week also generated a large volume of media coverage and social media exposure. This year to help engage secondary school students, BritishScienceWeek.org has produced a fun, downloadable activity book entitled, ‘Our Diverse Planet’ which will be available for all schools and youth groups. Of particular interest to the Army is a challenge to design and create a high-energy bar for soldiers to eat on the go.
