The troops, supported by the newly established Battalion Recce Platoon, faced continuous tests including advances to contact, forest clearance and a gruelling company attack.
The training was overseen by Major General Bill O'Leary Deputy Commander Field Army, who described 3 Royal Anglian as ‘one of the best in class’.
The Steelbacks is the reserve unit of the Regiment which provides an adaptable force operating rifle, mortar, anti-tank and machine gun platoons.
