The Army and the Queen's Platinum Jubilee
This year, Her Majesty The Queen will celebrate 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, becoming the first British Monarch to have reached their Platinum Jubilee.
The Army will be marking the occasion with pomp and circumstance, as always!
The British Army is proudly supporting Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Head of the Armed Forces, as she celebrates her Platinum Jubilee Year at events taking place across the UK and the Commonwealth, with the highlight being the Big Bank Holiday Weekend in June.
10 The Queen's Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment have passed their 'Fit For Role' Inspection and conducted their first Guard Mounts at Buckingham Palace, St James' Palace, Windsor Castle and the Tower of London. They will have the honour and responsibility of guarding Her Majesty The Queen during May and her Platinum Jubilee Weekend.
8 members of the Household Cavalry have paraded in front of His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex to find out who will receive the Princess Elizabeth Cup and all eight will flank Her Majesty The Queen at her birthday parade on the 2 June.
