The Band of The Household Cavalry

The Band is the only mounted band in the British Army and is part of the Corps of Army Music. It supplies music in both mounted and non mounted formats for State Ceremonial events, military events and the civilian market as required.

The ceremonial side of military life is here for all to see with the Band of The Household Cavalry. The ceremonial gold uniforms and thigh length riding boots (jack boots), music performed on horse back, State trumpeters, the musical ride with complex musical and military precision.

The Band today has up to 64 musicians.

Currently the band is located in Windsor.


Band of The Life Guards

The Band performs at such events as:

  • State Investitures
  • Palace banquets
  • Royal Ascot
  • Lord Mayor's Show
  • Trooping the Colour
  • Household Division Beating Retreat
  • Guard Mounts at Windsor Castle, St James's Palace and Buckingham palace
  • Military Tattoos

Located close to London, the Band is ideally situated for supporting events in the capital and around the southern counties. 

This however does not restrict the band from travelling worldwide.
