Sport is an important part of Army life. It not only makes RAVC soldiers mentally and physically robust, but helps develop qualities like leadership and the ability to work in a team.
The RAVC participates in a wide range of different sports, and soldiers of all abilities, both Regular and Reserve, are encouraged to pursue a sporting interest. RAVC soldiers have competed at Army Medical Services, Army and even Tri-service levels in various sports, but there are also many opportunities to try something new.

Every year, the Army Medical Services (AMS) have skiing trips to Norway, France and other places. Catering for both Alpine and Nordic Skiing, soldiers train with their colleagues, culminating in the AMS Ski Championships.

Regular and Reserve, there are many opportunities to get involved in Army skiing, whether you are a complete beginner learning to ski for the first time, or an experienced athlete looking to develop your skills.
