Sport is an important part of Army life. It not only makes QARANC soldiers mentally and physically robust, but helps develop qualities like leadership and the ability to work in a team.
The QARANC participates in a wide range of different sports, and soldiers of all abilities, both Regular and Reserve, are encouraged to pursue a sporting interest. QARANC soldiers have competed at Army Medical Services, Army and even Tri-service levels in various sports, but there are also many opportunities to try something new.

Prior to joining the Army I played a lot of Netball. When I joined the Army I trialled for the Army Medical Services Squad. I was scouted for the Army team and have played for the Army since, contributing to winning three ‘Inter-Service Championships'.

This year I have encouraged participation in AMS Netball by holding a new structured training program and holding the first ever AMS Netball Training camp, taking a squad of 16 players to Cyprus.
