Band of 150 Regiment RLC

150 Regiment, The Royal Logistic Corps has the only established Army Reserve Band based in East Yorkshire which prides itself on serving both the public and military in the Yorkshire area, the UK and abroad. We are recruiting now for musicians who wish to further enhance their skills by being a member of a professional, working military band.

Rehearsals and Engagements

The Band’s musicians meet every Wednesday evening and every other Sunday for rehearsals; spending the majority of their time improving their skills and musical diversity, whether it be in the wind band or one of the many ensembles. In the interests of the bands performance, it is expected that enlisted musicians attend as many rehearsals as possible – but we understand that all musicians have other work and personal commitments. The music in the rehearsals often varies from in-depth rehearsals to sight reading; but whatever form it takes we always ensure that all our musicians are employed and working towards an achievable goal. Many engagements are undertaken for a wide variety of sponsors and can include dinner nights, marching displays, concerts, ensembles and other formed groups. Musical diversity is the key.

Musical Training

To achieve higher pay brackets and promotion throughout your career as a musician you will be examined on your musical competence, moving through the 3 Trade Employment Qualifications (TEQs) which are

standardised by the Associated Board. Don’t forget that with each higher TEQ and rank comes a higher daily rate of pay.
