214 (North East) Multi-role Medical Regiment

This new Multi-role (MMR) regiment provides an integrated healthcare system within a single unit by integrating Deployed Primary Healthcare, Pre-Hospital Emergency Care, Medical Evacuation and Deployed Hospital Care capabilities. MMRs provide improved tactical flexibility, agility, clinical continuity and credibility throughout the Operational Patient Care Pathway (OPCP); by combining traditional Field Hospital and General Service Medical Regiment roles into a new type of medical unit, MMRs integrate medical capability at the lowest level.

Our Role

What is a Multi-Role Medical Regiment (MMR)?

This new concept will provide an integrated healthcare system (recognised by our civilian colleagues) within a single Unit by integrating Primary Healthcare, Specialist small teams (dental, rehab, physio), Pre-hospital Emergency Care, MEDEVAC and Deployed Hospital Care capabilities.

MMRs provide improved tactical flexibility, agility, clinical continuity and credibility to the Operational Patient Care Pathway. By combining traditional Field Hospital and Medical Regiment roles into a new type of medical unit, MMRs integrate medical capability at the lowest appropriate level and make efficient use of available workforce.
