Regular to Reserve

The Army values the experience of former officers and soldiers. If you’re a former Regular or Reservist and you’re missing Army life then you might be able to re-join, either in your old role or a new one. There's a range of ways to do this depending on your age, rank and experience. Ex-Regulars who decide to join the Reserves can also get a bigger bounty when they meet the minimum annual training commitment. Check out our 'Criteria' guide below to re-joining the Army to find out more.

Continuing your service as a Reservist

Are you wondering what to do after you leave the Regular Army. Have you considered joining the Parachute Regiment Reserves? You're already trained with the skills and experience we need.

You don't have to wait until after you leave the Army. It will also save you a lot of time and effort as you won't have to go through the re-enlistment process.

If you're a Regular serving soldier or officer and nearing the end of your contract

and interested in joining the Parachute Regiment Reserves. By completing a small amount of paperwork now, you can dispense with the re-enlistment process. You'll be able to leave the Regular Army knowing that you can parade at your local Parachute Regiment Reserves. What this means for you is that you don't have to go through the ADSC, Medical or interview process, which in most cases can take up to a year.
