Why should you join

Being a Reservist asks more of you than most activities you could do in your spare time but the rewards are so much greater. You'll be part of a team with people from all walks of life. You'll develop new skills as you work and train together. The Army pays you for the time you put in and you get the chance to travel and take part in a range of social events.

Yearly bonus

As a Reservist you commit to training at least 27 days a year. You get a tax-free bonus for meeting this commitment. It’s called a bounty and is worth £424 in the first year. It increases yearly to a maximum of five years where you could find yourself with an extra £1674. There are also allowances to help pay for food and expenses as well as your travel to and from your place of work.
