PTE Murdoch.

"20 year old Private Murdoch has only been in the battalion for less than a year but has already made a name a for herself as a high-flyer; winning Best Student Award on both parts of basic training (Alpha & Bravo)! In this period not only has she developed her soldier skills but also learnt her trade as a chef having recently completed her course down south!

In between gaining experience applying her trade in the kitchen, she is not shy to get her hands dirty in the field to learn more field craft. One of the many skills PTE Murdoch has acquired since joining is timekeeping, developing her fitness levels and a boost in confidence! Through basic training, she has developed friends for life through both training establishments & at B Company through the social functions.

In Varri’s personal life she lives with her Gran through in Irvine but works through in Prestwick at a Florist. Luckily the small business see’s any training with the Army Reserve beneficial to her, so getting time off to for weekends is easy.

With the prize to become to become ‘Best Student’ not only has she represented 6 SCOTS in a positive light but also paved the way for female’s who are considering joining as infanteer’s in the future. Some of the men her in her platoon that she beat were from 7 Rifles!"

I would highly advise people to join the TA because you learn a lot about yourself and gain a lot of new skills.
