General Headquarters, Imbros, 1915.

Imbros played an important role as a headquarters and staging post for General Sir Ian Hamilton’s Mediterranean Expeditionary Force (MEF), prior to and during the Gallipoli campaign. A field hospital, airfield and administrative and stores buildings were constructed on the island.
