There is a twice weekly public bus service to Chippenham and a daily bus service to Bath, in addition to which the local unit also provides a free mini bus once a week to Chippenham town centre.
Colerne is home to 21 Signal Regiment (AS) based at Azmighur Barracks, North Colerne. There are a number of facilities on camp, including a gym, a shop (The Market Mace), restaurant (PAYD), thrift shop, unisex hair salon, cash point, community centre, Army Learning Centre and Gooseberry Bush Day Nursery. There are three secondary schools within the catchment area.
Corsham is approximately five miles from Colerne. This idyllic village has a variety of small shops and some excellent restaurants as well as being home to 10 Signal Regiment at the Basil Hill site.
Further afield the town of Chippenham is some eight miles away. Also nearby is the village of Castle Combe famous for its race track as well as the picturesque village. The historic city of Bath, also approximately eight miles from Colerne, offers ample shopping, entertainment, and sightseeing opportunities.
The M4 is easily accessible from Colerne and there are train stations at both Chippenham and Bath which both offer a direct line service to London Paddington.
